Connecting Youth Across Borders

Why Go International?

At the heart of our international work lies the idea of bringing people together, overcoming stereotypes and learning from each other. FACK has strong local connections, so we believe that expanding our values and approach, forging new connections and forming strong partnerships will strengthen us and contribute to a stronger Europe.

Our work is based on the principles of non-formal education, and we believe in the significant learning potential of international cooperation for the young people we work with and our staff. We implement international cooperation projects for capacity building, as well as running training courses and youth exchanges. Since 2026, we hold an ESC Quality Label as an international volunteer host.

Hero's Journey

This was our first international project, in which we explored what we could learn about educational project management from other organisations operating at European and local levels.

SEED - Strengthening Elections & Empowering Democracy

Ahead of the European Parliament elections in 2024, we connected as young people from Italy, Lithuania and Altenburg, to run youth-focused events on topics that mattered to us.

How can we make FACK and Altenburg a welcoming place for young international volunteers under the European Solidarity Corp program?

How can we use creative and participatory tools to make our spaces, like the FACKtory, reflect the needs of the youth communities using it? #Placemaking

Our international projects are funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, enabling young people to exchange ideas, develop skills, and collaborate across borders.
